CAPS was started in 1996 by David Yuska. Prior to starting CAPS, David worked in verification for nearly 5 years. In those years as a verifier, he saw a large need for a composite management and reporting tool that would help facilitate the compliance process and verification.
Drawing upon his verification experience and software background, David began building a composite management program that would help firms easily monitor portfolios across and within composites. Without funding and limited cash flow, David spent the next two years building an innovative, yet easy to use software product called Composite Administrator™.
In the Fall of 1997, CAPS exhibited at the 1st Annual AIMR-PPS conference which was held in Chicago. The Composite Administrator program was unveiled and received great acclaim.
Composite Administrator was officially released in January of 1998. At that time, the company was incorporated as CAPS, Inc. and the first client was in production on the system as of March 31. The following years saw large and small companies implement the Composite Administrator product with great success.
Over the years, the software has evolved to meet the changing requirements of GIPS as well as help users report information in new ways. In 2003, the Composite Administrator product was discontinued and CAPS 4.0 took its place.
Today, CAPS 4.0 continues to keep pace with changes to GIPS, new feature enhancements and requested reports. The extensible data platform allows limitless opportunities to add new features and enhance existing ones.
CAPS continues to operate as a small, entrepreneurial software company that is extremely knowledgeable in GIPS and dedicated to exceeding the needs of our clients.
